St. Bernard Detention Center Renovation: This project involved complex renovations to the facility’s door locking systems, automated cell door hardware, and security camera system. Stout Architecture coordinated upgrades to the existing pneumatic door operators, including emergency air pressure capabilities to maintain operation if the primary system is compromised. The security camera system was redesigned to improve facility-wide coverage while reducing the overall number of cameras and long-term maintenance requirements. Because the detention center remained occupied during construction, the project required detailed coordination and phasing with facility staff and contractors to maintain security and minimize disruptions to daily operations.
