The SandBar was conceived as a family-oriented waterfront destination that establishes a fluid connection between the False River, marina, and the venue’s interior gathering spaces. During the day, families boating or skiing on the river can dock at the marina, enter the bar for food and refreshments, and return easily to the water. Volleyball courts extend the recreational program beyond the riverfront and support league play during the off-season. Large operable doors dissolve the boundary between the bar and the exterior activity areas, encouraging effortless circulation and creating an adaptable indoor-outdoor environment. The relaxed architectural character reinforces the SandBar’s laid-back atmosphere while allowing the venue to transition seamlessly from casual daytime use to concerts and larger community gatherings.
